Mukteswar Club lift Puspalata Garabadu Memorial Trophy

Mukteswar Club emerged champions in the 1st Puspalata Garabadu Memorial Masters T20 Cricket Tournament, edging Paramount Sporting by one run in the exciting all-Bhubaneswar final here at Town Club ground today.

The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while the runners-up outfit took home Rs 10,000. Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena handed over the trophy and prizes at the closing ceremony.

The highlight of the final match was a masterly knock of 88 (56 balls) by Paramount batsman Amaresh Mohanty. He bagged three individual prizes as man of the final match, best batsman and man of the tournament. Rashmi Ranjan Das (Paramount) pocketed the best bowler prize, while the best fielder prize was shared by Sampad Pattnaik (Paramount) and Madhab Khuntia (Pioneer Gold).

Town Club organised the tournament on the occasion of its 80th birth anniversary from February 28. Altogether eight teams, featuring players aged above 32 years, participated in the tournament.
